You all probably know that it is Ryan’s birthday week and we have been celebrating our guts out! We have also had family in from out of town, so we were able to go out to our fav restaurant AND to a movie- which it has been way too long since that has happened! We went and saw Spiderman: Homecoming which we both loved- we laughed our faces off and loved the modern John Hughes film vibe! I have also eaten about 30 Swig Sugar Cookies and have been enjoying a slightly slower pace of life!
It is no secret that my husband is actually He-Man, with a much cooler haircut. Words simply cannot describe what he means to me and our little family. He is my absolute best friend. He has been the rock of our family, and even when things (or I) get crazy he is the calming force that reminds me that all will work itself out in the end. They say that opposites attract, and that is definitely the case with us! He is outgoing, and the life of the party. This guy is always smiling, even when I am making him do yard work. He is the first to volunteer when someone needs help, and is the first to give me a hug and a pep talk after a long day.
Oh how I love bright pink lips! Nothing can turn an awful day around quicker than a bright bold lip… well that and maybe pizza and ice cream. Honestly though, when I am wearing a bold lip I just can’t help but smile! The only downfall is I kiss my kids approximately 1,872,692 times per day because have you seen their cute little cheeks? How can a mother resist?! They usually end up covered in pink by the end of the day!
Hi, my name is Hannah and I have a blue mascara addiction.
It all started when I was 12 years old and wanted to start wearing makeup. My mom bought me my first tube of mascara, which happened to be Great Lash Royal Blue. I’m not sure if she felt like wearing blue mascara was more youthful than black, or if maybe she was hoping for an 80s throwback, but I loved it. I loved it so much, in fact, that I wore it nearly every day for 16 years of my life. And even when I stopped wearing it, it wasn’t by choice. It wasn’t until Great Lash discontinued their Royal Blue mascara that I was forced to start branching out. I tried brand after brand and I could never find the right shade of blue or the right formula.
The past few weeks we have been so spoiled with gorgeous warm spring weather! We have been spending our afternoons with the kids in the backyard (when Veda isn’t melting down because of flies!) and enjoying every breath of fresh air. Yesterday however, it started raining and it has been chilly and dreary ever since. I decided to pull a few of my bright spring favorites out of my makeup bag to keep the spring feeling despite the weather! Do you need a spring beauty pick me up?? Read on to learn more about these beautiful bright and happy products!
You may have noticed a bit of radio silence here on the blog, as well as on my social media accounts. While this is a “beauty blog”, I’ve recently been focusing more on the beauty that surrounds me which mostly includes my amazing family. I have to be honest, it feels wrong to be posting about my new favorite lipstick when my heart has been breaking.
This past weekend, Ryan and I celebrated 8 years of blissful matrimony. We had the most incredible weekend as we enjoyed a little staycation in Salt Lake City and ate our hearts out. I honestly can’t believe that it has been that long! We are still kids, right? We actually have quite the history and I thought it would be fun to share a little bit of our love story with you, the cliff notes version!
I am so excited to share this yummy and EASY recipe with you today!! I consider myself a bit of a Mexican food snob. My very first job was as a hostess (and eventually a server) at a Mexican restaurant when I was 16. I worked there through all of high school and eventually through a lot of my college career. Working there made me very picky about everything from the way my tacos are put together to the seasonings that are used in my carnitas (oh hi, best pork dish ever!). I also loathed when anyone ordered fajitas because 1) They smelled amazing and always made me hungry and 2) They were sizzling and smokey so consequently I smelled like a walking fajita. My mom always lovingly referred to it as the “fajita facial”. This could be why my dating career was sub par.
