Oh how I love bright pink lips! Nothing can turn an awful day around quicker than a bright bold lip… well that and maybe pizza and ice cream. Honestly though, when I am wearing a bold lip I just can’t help but smile! The only downfall is I kiss my kids approximately 1,872,692 times per day because have you seen their cute little cheeks? How can a mother resist?! They usually end up covered in pink by the end of the day!
Hi, my name is Hannah and I have a blue mascara addiction.
It all started when I was 12 years old and wanted to start wearing makeup. My mom bought me my first tube of mascara, which happened to be Great Lash Royal Blue. I’m not sure if she felt like wearing blue mascara was more youthful than black, or if maybe she was hoping for an 80s throwback, but I loved it. I loved it so much, in fact, that I wore it nearly every day for 16 years of my life. And even when I stopped wearing it, it wasn’t by choice. It wasn’t until Great Lash discontinued their Royal Blue mascara that I was forced to start branching out. I tried brand after brand and I could never find the right shade of blue or the right formula.
The past few weeks we have been so spoiled with gorgeous warm spring weather! We have been spending our afternoons with the kids in the backyard (when Veda isn’t melting down because of flies!) and enjoying every breath of fresh air. Yesterday however, it started raining and it has been chilly and dreary ever since. I decided to pull a few of my bright spring favorites out of my makeup bag to keep the spring feeling despite the weather! Do you need a spring beauty pick me up?? Read on to learn more about these beautiful bright and happy products!
Have you ever been to a favorite things party? I have ALWAYS wanted to go to one! So, when my cute friend Dani invited me to her Favorite Things Party I was so excited!! Dani and I met in cosmetology school years and years ago. I always say that hair school friends are like sisters. They have seen you at your worst, you have been through it all together (including every hair color), and you most likely have ruined each others hair and/or nails at one time or another. I can go years without seeing my girls and we can always pick up right where we left off!
Oh how I love MAC. I suppose that I may be a little bit partial because when I was first trained in makeup artistry, I learned with MAC products. Even after all these years, there are still many MAC products that I prefer to any other brand of makeup. I love how affordable it is, even as a high end makeup brand, and that their products are highly pigmented and basically last forever. I also love that they are a company that gives back with the MAC AIDS Fund and their Back-To-MAC program. Did you know that you can return 6 empty MAC makeup containers and they will give you a lipstick for FREE? It’s amazing! You know what else is amazing? Giveaways! Make sure to read to the bottom of this post for information on how you can win one palette for you and one for your bestie!
AHHHH the many glorious powers of Pepto Bismol. We all remember the jingle “nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach……….” but did you know that we can add large pores, acne, redness, and dull skin to the list? It’s true!!! Using Pepto Bismol can reduce the size of your pores, clear acne, reduce redness AND make your skin glow!
Is it just me or are you really sick of winter too? I am from Utah, and it has been DUMPING snow here for the past few days, or months really. Don’t get me wrong, I love living in a place where I can enjoy all four seasons, but snow is for Christmas. And then it should go away. It probably has something to do with the fact that I am a mom and there are far fewer activities that I can do with the kids during the winter. Also, it’s cold and I fall almost every day walking from my door to the end of the driveway to get Veda off the bus. Not cool! We are getting cabin fever up in here!
I’ve had a serious case of writers block today. Most days what I want to write just comes to me, almost like an actual light bulb in my brain. This post has been different. I feel like I have so much to say, and yet nothing is coming. So I’m going to write what is on my mind right now. I usually call it word barf, but for some reason that seems unappealing so maybe we’ll go with word trail mix. Minus the raisins.
I regularly get asked what hair products I use to make my hair so long and thick. I do admit, I have really great genes in the hair department. My mom has the thickest hair I have ever seen! But I have put my hair through the ringer throughout my life and I have to rely on amazing products to maintain the integrity of my hair.
