I am so excited to share this yummy and EASY recipe with you today!! I consider myself a bit of a Mexican food snob. My very first job was as a hostess (and eventually a server) at a Mexican restaurant when I was 16. I worked there through all of high school and eventually through a lot of my college career. Working there made me very picky about everything from the way my tacos are put together to the seasonings that are used in my carnitas (oh hi, best pork dish ever!). I also loathed when anyone ordered fajitas because 1) They smelled amazing and always made me hungry and 2) They were sizzling and smokey so consequently I smelled like a walking fajita. My mom always lovingly referred to it as the “fajita facial”. This could be why my dating career was sub par.
Have you ever been to a favorite things party? I have ALWAYS wanted to go to one! So, when my cute friend Dani invited me to her Favorite Things Party I was so excited!! Dani and I met in cosmetology school years and years ago. I always say that hair school friends are like sisters. They have seen you at your worst, you have been through it all together (including every hair color), and you most likely have ruined each others hair and/or nails at one time or another. I can go years without seeing my girls and we can always pick up right where we left off!
Super Bowl Sunday and I have a love/hate relationship. The truth is, I don’t get football. I try so hard to care and I just don’t! Maybe if my mom brain could hold one more iota of information…just kidding, no. I still don’t care. If I could summon an incurable disease that conveniently descended upon me at approximately 4 pm on Super Bowl Sunday and dissipated around 9 pm, I probably would. The only, and I mean THE ONLY, time that the Super Bowl is semi-tolerable is during the commercials and half-time (I’m looking at you Lady Gaga- make it worth my while, girl!). Then there is the Super Bowl party. I can’t wait to go to someone’s house to chase my kids around and keep them from breaking things while my husband watches football. So fun. Like honestly, where do I sign up?
I know I talk a lot about how much I love chocolate, cupcakes, cookies, and all things delicious and desert-like. The real truth is that I love salty snacks with all my heart. If I had to choose between salty or sweet I would probably choose salty every time! I think it may have something to do with my mom eating a 1 pound box of chocolates right before I was born. Chips, crackers, popcorn, you name it. I LOVE IT! After I had Jude, I was nursing and had to be gluten free (among other things) because of his sensitivities. It was really hard to give up gluten. Specifically Cheez-It Crackers. I love those things! Luckily I came across an idea which, after a lot of trial and error, brought me to this recipe! It is the EASIEST snack recipe and I still eat these regularly whether or not I am trying to eat healthy. I absolutely prefer them to boxed cheese crackers now. Obviously there are probably much healthier snack options, but I can only eat so many baby carrots. Can I get an amen?
Hi Friends! Welcome to my blog! I am so happy that you are here, and honestly so happy that I am here too! Writing has always been one of my greatest loves but as a busy wife, mother, and business owner it became progressively harder to make time for this little passion of mine. I felt like something was missing, but I wasn’t sure how to incorporate it back in my life.
